As it is with any Election that was prematurally disrupted there has to be an investigation done before moving foward.
The committe will be very transparent and honest to the members of Local 5441.
We will be updating you all as soon as possible with all the new election updates.

Please be patient.

UPDATE ON 2024 ELECTION FOR TABLE OFFICERS

On behalf of the voting committee we want to take this opportunity to apologize to the membership of CUPE Local 5441 for the inconvenience and frustration associated with this election.

We greatly regret that the election ended prematurely.

At this time, the voting committee is seeking advice and guidance from CUPE National to determine next steps moving forward.

We are aware that emails, phone calls, questions, concerns are going out to many different people such as to the Executive, to the CUPE National Representative, Site VP’s, Stewarts, ect. It is important to note that as per the bylaws it is the voting committee who is responsible for all aspects of the vote and therefore it is the voting committee who needs to investigate problems that arise, to meet and determine appropriate next steps and to communicate next steps to the membership. Please understand that no one else has the authority to direct next steps and as such no one else is in a position to provide updates outside of the voting committee.

The voting committee does not have any further information to share at this time, so we ask for your patience as we await instructions and a response from National.

Please understand that we fully appreciate your desire and need for a timely update, and we assure you that this is a priority for us.

We look forward to updating you as soon as possible.

In Solidarity,

CUPE Local 5441 Voting Committee
